A Stand of a Worthy Man follows an elderly man named Adel and his three friends Shohdy, Azaizy, Hussein trying to lift up the spirits of Adel after his wife, Abeer passed away. The movie starts off with Adel desperately trying everything in his power to see Abeer in this hospital, but the workers made it very difficult for him to do so. When Abeer passed away Adel fell into a deep depression and didn't even attend her funeral. His three friends hated seeing Adel in this state and wanted to do what they could to make him feel at least a little better. With all that was going on with Adel, the three friends were having their own issues: Shohdy was afraid he was going to die alone with no wife, Hussein feels disconnected from his family, like all he does is provide the money, and Azaizy is having marital issues. So with all of the emotions all of the men are going through, they suggest to go on a trip just the four of them. But, they knew that Adel would refuse to leave the house, so they came up with a plan with the intentions to get Adel out of the house and on a fun adventure. So, they told Adel that Shohdy is sick and dying, and only has little time until he passes away. Adel agrees to go on the trip for Shohdy. During this trip the elderly men have ups and downs and they bond with each other and get much closer. Adel clearly needed it, as well as the other friends. The getaway was a good restart and distraction for them all from their lives back home.

I really enjoyed this movie, it was exactly what I expected from a comedy about elderly men. The humor was really lighthearted and it was an easy watch. I found that there was such a good mixture of emotional scenes and comedy. I think it's really wholesome to see men, elderly men especially show the care that they have for each other. It felt almost really realistic to me. They weren't overly cheesy, or sharing their emotions with each other through their words, because frankly you don't see that happening to often in real life, especially with the older generation. So it was very realistic to see the jokes and them tease each other, yet the movie really highlighted their love and care for each other. Out of 2.8k IMDb users, A Stand of a Worthy Man was given a score of a 7.1/10. 18.2% of those voters gave the movie it's highest rating of a 10/10, and 2.5% gave the movie it's lowest rating of a 1/10. Reading through the reviews, most of them mentioned how it was really easy to watch, comedic, and the perfect amount of sad scenes without making it feel to heavy. I really enjoyed this movie, and I would watch it again. I didn't give it 5 stars simply because it just wasn't a perfect movie to me. Call me picky, but I just have no particular reason for this movie not being a 5 stars; I truly really did love and enjoy it, but it just wasn't a 5 star. Perhaps I have high standards for a movie to be 5 stars, but this was close.
