What did I mess is a romantic comedy about a couple named Naylah and Fares who want to get married and settle down, but both have different time lines for these goals. While Naylah was ready and wanting to get married, Fares wasn't ready for that financial commitment- or wanting kids and needed to wait. Because the timing wasn't working for them, they ended up breaking up. A few months later at a dinner, party, Fares is encountered with Naylah but with a new, handsome, very rich- and ready to get married, named Sylvio. This, predictably made Fares very jealous and that led to the rest of the night, and movie I chaos.

I gave this movie a three star because I didn't hate it but it wasn't my favorite. Although awfully predictable and cheesy, I find these romantic comedies to be very comforting. I think there's something about all romantic comedies being exactly the same that they bring a sense of nostalgia and comfort when I watch them. They don't take much effort to watch at all. No having to pay attention to small details or trying to solve mysteries, just easy and you know exactly what the movie will be from beginning to end simply from the genre. Out of 730 IMDb voters, the movie was given a 7.1/10. 54.2% of the voters gave the movie it's highest rating of a 10, and 6.2% of voters gave the movie it's lowest score of a one. Out of every movie we have watched in this class so far, this movie has the most lowest ratings given by voters, and I can't say im surprised. Although I honestly was fine with the movie, I knew this genre is not for everyone. A lot of people hate its predicability, how slow it is, and how cheesy it can be. I had a feeling a lot of people wouldn't enjoy the movie, but I still stand with my rating of a solid 3/5 stars.
